What do you want a VPN for?
Safer browsing
Encrypt your traffic on public wifi and leave fewer traces with your internet provider. For most people the main reason.
Streaming & travel
Watch your Dutch services from abroad. Inside the EU a paid subscription often works without a VPN; outside it, things get complicated.
Choosing the best one
Prices, device limits, logging policy and audits side by side, including what you pay after the first term ends.
English guides
The reviews and most guides are in Dutch. These English pages cover what is hard to find elsewhere: what actually works if you live in the Netherlands or Belgium, or if you are Dutch and living abroad.

Watch Dutch TV abroad: what actually works
NPO Start, Videoland and Ziggo GO outside the Netherlands. What EU portability covers for free, where it stops, and why living abroad is not the same as travelling. · August 2026
Our principles
VPNwijzer is an independent comparison site. We base our reviews on public specifications, prices, independent audits and user experiences, and we write down what we are not sure about. No "best VPN ever" language, just clear trade-offs. Read more about how we work. The provider reviews are in Dutch: see all reviews.
