Affiliate disclosure & privacy

Affiliate links

VPNwijzer contains affiliate links. That means: if you click a link to a VPN provider and take out a subscription there, we receive a commission from that provider. You pay nothing extra; the price is exactly the same as if you went to the provider directly.

These commissions are our business model: they pay for maintaining the site. We mark affiliate links with rel="sponsored" and state on every page with such links that they are there.

How commissions do (not) influence our content

Commissions differ per provider. We therefore follow three rules: our ranking and verdicts are argued on the merits and not determined by the size of a commission; we also name the drawbacks of services we earn from; and where relevant we also mention services without an affiliate programme (as in our comparison). Providers cannot buy a position or a positive review.

Privacy

We keep it simple: this site does not set tracking cookies itself and does not collect personal data. There are no accounts, no newsletters and no forms that store data.

Note: if you click through to a VPN provider, that provider's privacy terms apply from that moment. The affiliate network may set a cookie to attribute the sale to our site; that happens on the domain of the provider or the network, not on ours.

No advice

The information on this site is general information, not legal or financial advice. Prices, terms and features of providers change regularly; always check the current information with the provider itself before you take out a subscription.
